High-Quality Dock Washers

What is a Dock Washer?

A dock washer is a highly specialized, heavy-duty flat washer engineered specifically for massive load-bearing and structural applications. While they share a similar functional design to standard fender washers, dock washers are manufactured with a significantly larger outside diameter and a much thicker, more rigid structural body. Forged from premium, industrial-grade materials—most commonly heavily galvanized steel—these exceptionally rugged fasteners are built to survive the harshest outdoor elements and marine environments.

Structural Advantages and Outdoor Applications

Because structural timber and heavy outdoor assemblies require massive clamping force without material damage, dock washers provide several critical mechanical advantages:

• Oversized Bearing Surface: The massive outer diameter expertly distributes extreme heavy-duty loads over a very wide area. This actively prevents the bolt head or nut from crushing the mating surface or dangerously pulling through softer materials like heavy timber.
• Extra-Thick Profile: Unlike thinner standard flat washers that can easily bend or warp under extreme tension, the exceptionally thick body of a dock washer maintains absolute structural integrity under immense clamping pressure.
• Marine and Timber Construction: Because of their thick galvanized coating and heavy-duty load capabilities, they are the industry standard for securing marine docks, wooden boardwalks, massive retaining walls, and heavy outdoor timber framing.
